EPIC Submits Public Comments on EPA’s 8th DWINSA
The Environmental Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) appreciates the opportunity to respond to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s request for comment on its information collection plan for the 8th Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey and Assessment (DWINSA).
The primary aim of our recommendations is to better align lead service line replacement (LSLR) funding with needs, to ensure that states with more lead pipes receive a fair share of funding as quickly as possible. At the same time, our recommendations aim to minimize the administrative burden on water systems, states, and the EPA through efficient use of data that is already being compiled or is otherwise readily available.
